A week in the life of an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) (Journey):
- Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures
- Ensure appropriate security controls are in place
- Respond to computer security breaches and viruses.
- Provide maintenance and creation of Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation packages.
- Recommendsystem enhancements
- Providetechnical and programmatic Information Assurance Services
- Design, develop, and implementsecurity requirements
- PrepareSecurity Test and Evaluation plans.
- Providecertification and accreditation support in the development of security and contingency plans and conducts complex risk and vulnerability assessments.
- Developand completesystem security plans and contingency plans.
- Assistin security program audits and develops solutions to lessen identified risks.
- Conducttechnical research on system upgrades

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. - Bachelor's degree in a Technical Discipline.
- At least five (5) years of experience in Information Assurance related field.
- CompTIA Security or equivalent DOD INST 8570 compliant certification required.
