Overview
The Lead Pipe Inspector will identify damages and defects to tubing, verify safety guidelines and regulations are followed. The Lead Pipe inspector will also work on various tasks associated with the operation of equipment and tools in the Pipe Yard division.
Responsibilities
Set up and calibrate equipment, interpret levels, and evaluate results with respect to Nondestructive testing (NDT) applicable codes, standards, and specifications
Organizes and reports results of tests using appropriate job-related paperwork
Demonstrates leadership and work with small groups to complete inspections or tests in timely manner
Turns in daily reports
Responsible for keeping areas and equipment in good and clean working order
Follows and supports all AWS HSE policies at all times
Knows and uses appropriate PPE at all times
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Experience/Qualifications
A minimum of four (4) years’ experience with OCTG, or related NDT field, required
Certifications: UT Thickness, MP, and EMI, preferred
Able to operate plant/mobile unit, preferred
Able to multi-task in fast paced environment
Works well with others
Basic problem solving and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Outlook and Excel), preferred
Valid driver’s license and ability to continually pass MVR, required
Ability to communicate, read & write in English
Ability to clear/pass pre-employment screening, testing and job-relevant hiring requirements
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States, as required by law
Able to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on routine basis
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and color vision
Able to deal with wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat/cold
Work environment may include moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles and moderate to loud noise, requiring consistent use of appropriate PPE
