The North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization (NFRMPO) is the regional transportation and air quality planning agency for Northern Colorado with offices located in Fort Collins. This position will work with the NFRMPO’s Mobility program. The mission of the Mobility Program is to increase individual and regional mobility with a focus on vulnerable groups such as older adults, people with disabilities, and lower income individuals. The NFRMPO is in the process of launching a One Call/One Click Center, called RideNoCo, which will provide a centralized location for people in Larimer and Weld Counties to find information about the transportation options in the region. As this program launches and continues to expand with more features for riders, RideNoCo staff will be doing significant community outreach to make individuals, agencies, and businesses aware of RideNoCo. In a parallel effort, the NFRMPO is also working to reduce single-occupancy vehicle trips, typically through the cultivation of a robust multimodal transportation system and resources. Strategies to accomplish this goal include working with businesses to increase multimodal options or telework and increasing awareness of available alternative modes (transit, carpooling, vanpooling, bicycling, etc.) through educational programming and outreach.
Member Duties: The AmeriCorps member will aid in developing and implementing community outreach plans to increase awareness of RideNoCo and transportation demand management (TDM) programs and develop relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
