AmeriCorps Member - Recovery Corps

AmeriCorps, often referred to as a domestic Peace Corps, places individuals within communities to commit a year to serving others. AmeriCorps is a real-life education and work experience wrapped into one. As a member, you will learn teamwork, leadership, responsibility, and other essential skills that will benefit you while gaining personal satisfaction of knowing you are making a difference in your community.

Members will undergo training in the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) model of recovery coaching and serve as recovery coaches. Recovery coaches will focus on reducing substance use disorders through one-on-one recovery coaching, outreach phone calls, and community education.

*Multiple locations across Wisconsin*

Some areas include Eau Claire, Wausau, Rice Lake, Rhinelander

Term of Service: 9/11/2023 - 8/31/2024

Required Orientation & Training for all positions (expenses covered):

• September 11 - 15, 2023
• September 18 - 22, 2023
• Training is required; please only apply if you are able to attend these training sessions.

Job Qualifications:

Applicants must be 17 years of age by September 11, 2023, to start and possess or be working towards a high school diploma or GED/HSED and pass required background checks. *The ideal candidate will have at least one year in recovery or lived experience.*

What does it mean to serve?

• Applicants must be willing to serve for the duration of the term and service (1,700 hours minimum), averaging approximately 35-40 hours a week
• Members must also be able to handle the financial commitment made by accepting the position
