The Position:
AmeriCU Credit Union is in search of a Community Events Specialist who aligns directly with our mission to provide our members with the right financial services to live life, dream big, and achieve financial success, and our vision to be the most admired organization in every community we serve. The Community Events Specialist:
- Supports the strategic planning, execution and oversight of corporate and community events. This position will be instrumental in developing opportunities for networking, relationship-building, member engagement, community engagement, employee engagement and brand awareness through successful event coordination.
What you will do:
As a Community Events Specialist your primary responsibilities will include:
- Develops and manages the credit union’s event strategy to align with organizational and marketing goals
- Collaborates with the Community & PR Manager and AVP of Marketing to develop the event schedule/calendar annually
- Works closely with stakeholders to generate ideas and execute logistics for successful events and meetings.
- Responsible for planning, execution, logistics and oversight of on-site, off-site and virtual/hybrid community and corporate events and meetings. Must be in attendance of all events, planning meetings and any other activities requiring in-person coordination.
- Coordinate all event logistics with respective internal and external parties including contract and management.
- Manage meetings and events from early planning and development to final execution through communication, coordination and follow-up.
- Manage and coordinate site selection, pre-coordination, travel coordination, registration and budget management for the event
- Coordinate and execute food & beverage menu, décor & entertainment based on agendas and event requirements
- Facilitate special room configurations, arranging and special needs such as AV equipment, etc.
- Work with PR/Community Manager & PR/Communications specialist to promote engagement in/attendance at events
- Coordinates and supports volunteer efforts with employees, community members, non-profits organizations, and business community members
- Establishes vendor relationships and vendor pricing for all aspects of event planning; able to negotiate with business partners and vendors to gain cooperation, make cost effective decisions and achieve objectives
- Coordinate speaker logistics to ensure content development matches the overall goal of the education event.
- Works to secure both commercial and community member sponsorships for events, meeting goals for events sponsorship fulfillment and budgetary guidelines.
- Maintains electronic record keeping of all events for tracking and coordination purposes.
