Assistant Buyer

This role is challenging – above and beyond the day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll have a big role within a fast-paced team. The Assistant Buyer is responsible for aiding the Senior Buyer/Buyer developing assortment that will achieve the financial goals of the area. They must have good analytical skills matched with a creative eye and entrepreneurial spirit. However, the challenge doesn’t come without reward; you’ll have the opportunity grow your career while building a world-class team.

Your day to day will vary but here’s an idea of what you’ll work on:

• Assist with new product creation, researching seasonal trends, competitive products on the web as well as our direct competitors’ catalogs
• Proof catalog pages to ensure that all product information is accurate before the book is printed and shipped to the customer
• Data entry; assuring all buying tools and systems are updated to reflect the current product line and book strategies including but not limited to: costs, retails, markdowns, and vendor information
• Request, review, and organize samples from outside vendors including but not limited to: fit samples, photography samples, and production line samples
• Build strong credible partnerships with our in-house Inventory Planners, Creative Team, Marketing Team, and Outside Vendors to facilitate a seamless connection throughout a product life cycle.

Our ideal candidate

• Fashion Merchandising Degree
• Office Suite efficiency, specifically in Excel and PowerPoint
• Internship or relative merchandising experience outside of schooling
• 1 years experience in corporate buying preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
