Job description
Ameripipe Supply, Inc. is one of the Southwest’s leading suppliers of pipe, valves, fittings and fabrication services supporting the fire protection, mechanical, industrial, and oilfield market. Founded in 1979, the company is a Premier 150 supplier according to Supply House Times.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Fabricator operates rotary chop saw and band saw to cut pipe to length.
- Handle movement of pipe along the length of table and off load to a cart or crate for staging in loading area.
- Fabricator operates grooving machine for a grooved pipe end process.
- Fabricator operates automatic welder to achieve no less than 400 welds per day
- Operate threading machine to apply thread to desired pipe.
- Fabricator operates make-on machine in order to apply fitting to desired pipe.
- Operate band saw in order to cut threaded rod to specified lengths.
- Fabricator installs hanger devices to specified lengths of threaded rod.
- Operate bench grinder to apply required end to threaded rod for application of hanger devices.
- Fabricator pushes pipe carts of pipe to load area for loading purposes.
- Fabricator operates nylon bander to ready pipe bundles for shipment when required.
- Completes training curriculum including but not limited to safety requirements while demonstrating an acceptable level of competence as defined by management.
- Follow all company policies and procedures. Handle additional tasks necessary to fulfill the needs of the company and the customer as deemed by the fabrication lead, fabrication manager, or branch operations manager.
- All other duties assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Must be a US Citizen or have a work permit
- Minimum of 3 years in a production multitask environment while under time constraints.
- Basic arithmetic skills required using whole numbers and decimals with the ability to read a tape measure in increments.
- Must be adaptable to different shifts, positions and have the availability to work overtime and weekends when required
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn, have a “can do” attitude
- MUST be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check
Work Environment:
- 100% manufacturing environment
- Must be able to work in all inclement weather conditions (Cold & Heat)
- Ability to walk, stand, crouch, bend, kneel, lift, carry, reach as needed in large and tight spaces
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. above head and work over head
- Ability to team lift up to 100 lbs. over head
