The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for creating and executing a territory plan that aligns with the regional and company production and profitability goals. This includes managing all aspects of agency and distribution partner relationships within the assigned territory. 

Qualifications

  • Encompassing a dynamic and positive can-do attitude
  • Territory travel 2-3 nights per week with possibility of extended periods for trade shows, conventions and internal meetings
  • Three years of insurance and/or business to business sales experience
  • Ability to manage a remote territory working with limited direction
  • A technical problem solver with the judgment and ability to own a request or issue and collaborate with others to ensure satisfactory resolution
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service mindset
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity, exhibit team spirit and enthusiasm, and establish trust and credibility
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of personnel and represent the Company professionally, both internally and externally
  • Agile learner who can quickly absorb information and apply it to current business situations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Develop an annual territory plan that aligns with the regional and company growth and profitability goals
  • Oversee the development and management of partnerships within the designated agency plant regarding company products and facilitate submission levels according to the needs of the company
  • Encourage development of key partnerships with independent agents to increase the mutual success of the relationship between the agency and the company
  • Collaborate with others - facilitate communication among agents and various internal departments including underwriting teams and the regional Sales VP
  • Responsible for the management and evaluation of independent agents and the pursuit of new agents in target areas
  • Keep our team informed of industry developments through contact with independent agents and interactions at insurance industry meetings and conventions
  • Timely reporting on activities, concerns and opportunities with independent agents and the Workers' Compensation marketplace
