Seeking a motivated and talented Finance Leader to oversee our Finance Operations team. While the emphasis of this role is accounting and finance, it includes responsibilities for managing a breadth of functions and requires an individual who is both strategic and tactical.

Ameritas is looking for a VP, Financial Operations to join the Accounting and Finance team. In this role you will provide professional accounting management vision for financial accounting activities including: producer compensation, payroll, treasury, premium tax and 1099 Reporting, Separate Accounts accounting & reporting, receipts and financial reconciliations. You will be responsible for overseeing and establishing efficient processes, and standards, while leading teams and projects.

  • Own and guide required business support and strategy to achieve business outcomes.
  • Oversee financial reporting and accounting control environment that adheres to regulatory and audit standards.
  • Design plans and initiatives to support current business needs and build capabilities for a more effective and efficient future business state.
  • Oversee current producer compensation project.
  • Create and communicate a vision and strategy for the division.
  • Cultivate competitiveness through external awareness of the market.
  • Oversee and develop associate and business resources.
  • Represent the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values by exemplifying leadership and customer focus.
  • Build internal and external relationships to support, promote, and grow the business.
  • Act as an enterprise contributor by partnering with leaders throughout the organization on cross-division initiatives.
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of accounting professionals to assure quality customer service, support career growth pathing and evaluate performance.
What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10 years of accounting or finance experience
  • 4-7 years of strong leadership or people management experience with a proven track record of developing and upskilling teams
  • Familiarity with regulatory accounting principles for life insurance companies and Broker Dealers preferred
  • Strong communication and executive presence capabilities.
