What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Tech position at Ameritex?
Location: Seguin, TX Facility (On-Site Role)
This role is responsible for preparing product drawings of our precast underground utility structures. Employee must be capable of interpreting project details and transferring information to production drawings used by plant personnel to build the products accordingly. Close communication with our sales and project management teams is essential to meet customer deadlines and to provide accurate drawings per the project specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:
- Generate production drawings of products taken from project blueprints
- Coordinate with AmeriTex Engineering department for structural design of products
- Navigate company ERP system to monitor production and delivery schedules
- Assists Project Managers with adhering to customer expectations and timelines
- Communicates with City, State and Consulting Engineers to help resolve RFI’s on awarded products
- Prints construction plan sheets pertaining to street drainage systems.
- Reads general notes in construction documents for all items pertaining to our product
- Calculate product weights to determine best means of design and manufacture.
- Look ahead for any potential design issues and report any findings to the Project Manager
- Conducts in-house review if a coordinator is not available
- Discusses technical product issues with Project Manager
- Update standard details when needed
- Assists Production with any requested details
- Assists Project Manager with project information or details / revisions needed for projects after distribution
- Assists Dispatch if there is any confusion with lay schedules or product
- Assists any other AmeriTex employees with questions about the product
- Other duties as assigned by the management team

EDUCATION
- High School GED
EXPERIENCE
- One to three years of experience in a construction environment is preferred, but not mandatory.
