Summary
This position will monitors and supervises the excavation phase of a construction project and ensure this phase completes on schedule and in accordance with the set specifications. Seeking an individual who is hard working who are highly organized, great work ethic, detail oriented and looking to excel in a dynamic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Instill Safety as a top priority
- Provides on-site supervision and direction to crew members
- Familiar with project specifications and ability to understand plans
- Establish and adjust work sequences to meet schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel
- Ensure crew time cards are filled out and submitted weekly
- Fill out daily foreman reports
- Analyze and resolve issues that may arise unexpectedly
- Ability to explain and understands survey and grade staking (Lasers, Transits, and GPS)
- Manage all excavating activities for your crew
- Other duties may be assigned.
Experience, Education & Skills
- Minimum of 5 years as a foreman/supervisor in the highway heavy civil construction
- Union member or willing to join the union
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and practices
- Must be familiar with heavy equipment
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Ability to work with tools and equipment such as, power and non-power tools
- Frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, climb and periodically lift up to 50lbs
- Positive attitude and possess excellent motivational skills
- Time management, multitasking, and prioritization are crucial
- Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
Working Conditions
- Construction Site Environment – Physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Exposed to high noise levels.
