We are seeking a team oriented Billing and AP Clerk to join our accounting team and work onsite at our Anchorage Headquarters.

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to)

  • Processes monthly billings by working with project teams to include receiving pay apps from project team members and invoicing the customer. 
  • Performs accounts payable daily processing including invoice processing, payment of vendor invoices and company record keeping.
    • Performs daily input of invoices in accounting and job cost systems and routes invoices to authorized approvers.
    • Obtains lien releases from subcontractor for all subcontractor pay applications.
    • Ensures expense coding, voucher preparation, and check issuance are accomplished in an accurately and timely manner.
    • Produces various reports for management including accounts payable ageing registers.
    • Processes check mailings through certified and regular mail, ACH and other and other transmittal methods. 
    • Ensures all accounts payable company records are timely and neatly filed in company cloud (Datto), vendor files and Corecon.
  • Verifies vendor accounts balances by reconciling monthly statement of accounts with related transactions. 
  • Acts as front line of communication with all assigned vendor accounts for accounts payable activities.  Handles queries and requests of staff and vendors, in person, by telephone and email, in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Sets up vendors in Corecon and obtains W9 from new vendors.
  • Reconciles general ledger accounts. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Degree in Accounting and/or Five (5) years general accounting technician experience.
  • Experience with Corecon and Quickbooks software strongly preferred.
  • Experience in creating spreadsheets, data entry and use of other Microsoft Office systems.
  • Project costing experience, preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable, billing and job cost systems and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Construction industry and job cost experience.
  • Excellent Computer skills including excel and accounting systems.

  Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work onsite each workday at the AMES 1's Anchorage headquarters.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to stay focused for long periods of time.
• Must be able to use phone.
