Controller

Job Summary
The Controller will oversee the General Accounting Team and Payroll Specialist for AMES 1, LLC. This position will report directly to the CFO,
and will work out of  AMES 1's headquarters office in Anchorage each workday. 

Required Skills/Abilities
• Ability to create and manage budgets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP and regulations.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes, internal controls, and best practices.
• Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Multi State Payroll knowledge HIGHLY desirable.
• Proficient in budget creation and analysis software, preferably in Quickbooks.
• Corecon experience – major plus.
• Excellent leadership skills.
• Must be able to lead team with dignity and respect.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize.
• Stable job history.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, or the equivalent work experience
• At least 5 years of experience in a Controller capacity or Accounting/Finance Management role.
• At least 8 years of experience in Accounting/Finance.
• 2 years of federal construction industry experience - DoD contractor strongly preferred.
• 3 years of payroll management experience in multiple states strongly preferred.


Physical Requirements
• Must be able to work onsite each workday at the AMES 1's Anchorage headquarters.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to work out of the Anchorage office each day.
• Must be able to stay focused for long periods of time.
• Must be able to use phone.

Annual salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.
