Position Purpose

  • For assigned shift, coordinates the work of the Distribution personnel to ensure daily schedule is completed. Monitor accuracy and quality in the movement and storage of materials to assure full and productive use of available working hours.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out the routine departmental operations by meeting regularly with the supervisor. Keep the supervisor informed of critical issues.
  • Ensure timely completion of jobs by advising supervisor of project status and recommend additional staffing needs.
  • Assist in the movement and storage of products, ensuring all information is correctly recorded and proper storage space is available in the appropriate location.
  • Resolve problems and answer questions from department employees regarding the movement of materials or other warehousing problems that might occur.
  • Ensure supplies and parts are available for department personnel to complete jobs by timely ordering of supplies.
  • Ensure the distribution departments are maintained in a clean and orderly manner and adhere to all safety and health standards.
  • Train new department employees on job requirements and monitor employee performance.
  • Meet briefly with previous shift Lead to be updated on status of work in process and new priorities for assigning work projects to current shift personnel.
  • Must be able to administer first aid, as necessary.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Must have knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and plan use of time and people effectively and efficiently.
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and an ERP system.

Qualifications / Prior Experience

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience and responsibilities
  • Knowledge utilizing Lean Manufacturing and ERP systems is preferred
  • Bilingual skills preferred

Work Environment / Other Requirements

  • Must be able to use normal office equipment (scanner, printer, copier, and computer).
  • The work performed is conducted in a climate-controlled facility with moderate noise levels that are within OSHA limits.
  • A variety of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling and stooping. Considerable moderate to heavy lifting of materials.
