Position Summary
The Business Manager will provide strategic direction and execution of the Hughes-Treitler business, based in Garden City, NY. The role is to capitalize on synergies and create a cohesive strategy to increase the customer base, market share, and overall profitability.
How You Will Do It
Finance
- Create monthly business forecast.
- Responsible for a P&L and Balance Sheet
- Create businesses annual operating budget.
- Manage Working Capital metrics to meet forecast and budget goals.
- Manage department expenses to meet forecast and budget.
Sales
- Meet monthly forecast and budget order goals.
- Create and management of Sales Incentive (SI) plans.
- Manage, develop, coach and lead Sales teams.
- Manage global sales channel (direct/indirect)
- Manage department expenses to meet forecast and budget.
Marketing/Business Development
- Evaluate new areas/markets to expand the business.
- Develop and execute marketing plans and marketing communications.
- Manage product management team to develop new products.
- Evaluate M&A targets to fill portfolio gaps and enter new adjacent spaces.
- Development & Execution of annual Strategic Business Plan
- Manage department expenses to meet forecast and budget.
Operations
- Meet shipment targets as defined by monthly forecast and/or annual budget.
- Management of operations KPI’s
- Responsible for creating an environment of continuous improvement and drivingoperational improvement plans using AMETEK Business Systems tools, e.g., Kaizen, Lean, 6S, supply chain, procurement, etc.
- Manage department expenses to meet forecast and budget.
HR & Human Capital
- Focus on division and local BU strategies developed to A*ttract, Develop and R*etain talent and creating future successors for their role and other roles in their organization.
- Demonstrate leadership skills by being a steward and advocate of AMETEK policies, practices, culture, philosophies, etc. Effectively lead and motivate employees to meet organizational goals and expectations for productivity, quality, and other goals
- Provide effective performance feedback, recognize, reward, and implement improved performance programs when necessary. Ensure that managers are effectively using SuccessFactors tools and meeting the deadlines for performance reviews, annual merit increases, etc.
What We Look For
- Have a bachelor’s degree and experience with study in one or more of the following areas: STEM related degree/background, New Product Development, Finance, Operations, Business Administration, or other area deemed applicable. A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is also preferred but not required. For external candidates, prior P&L experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with finance to understand a P&L, Working Capital, Financial Controls, headcount management, and the “know how” to make money in a manufacturing company.
- Demonstrated intangible of being detailed oriented along with a strong learning agility.
- Proven ability to excel in larger, more complex roles.
- Demonstrated the ability to successfully coach, mentor, motivate, lead by example, and manage both direct and non-direct reports.
- Demonstrated ability or strong understanding of how to motivate and retain top talent, develop staff, add bench strength, and the ability to build a team environment that will work cohesively to achieve business growth in line with strategic plans.
- Capable of holding self and the team to the highest standards while adhering to the laws, regulations, ethics, company policies, etc.
- Possess excellent emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills, and situational and self-awareness in various settings within all levels/functions of the organization, including direct reports, other employees, peers, and superiors.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $180,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
