SUMMARY


Directs and coordinates activities concerned with production of company product(s) by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate team leads.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:


  • Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget, cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Plans, directs and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, and quality control activities to obtain on-time delivery to customers.
  • Maintain production schedule and priorities as a result of equipment failure, operating problems or changing customer requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a Weekly Material review board.
  • Ensure monthly shipments meet revenue goals.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems.
  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems, improve product quality and efficiency on the shop floor.
  • Consults with Engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
  • Consults with Document Control personnel concerning routings and processes.
  • Analyze sales orders with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in the Assembly Departments, Machine Shop, Test Laboratory and Maintenance Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year college or university; or 3-5 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to subordinates, supervisors, Senior Staff, public groups and/or boards of directors.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS


Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.


REASONING ABILITY


Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS


OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The ability to work with computer software – Navision (NAV) and Microsoft Officesuite.
