What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR & Payroll Specialist position at Ametek?

The HR & Payroll Specialist will provide Human Resources and administrative support, including ownership of payroll processing for the AMT US business units within AMETEK.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

•    Processing payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including reviewing, and importing hours from timekeeping system.
•    Provide on-site support for employees relating to payroll systems.
•    Create and maintain process documents for payroll and HR processes.
•    Source, screen and schedule candidate interviews and manage candidates in the applicant tracking system, SuccessFactors.
•    Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
•    Coordinate new hire onboarding, including processing I-9 documentation, conducting day-one orientation with new hires, and partnering with other departments on onboarding logistics.
•    Draft organizational announcements for new hires.
•    Ensure timely and accurate processing of HR transactions and changes, such as hiring and termination information, personal data changes, and compensation, performance, and personnel changes.
•    Update and maintain accurate employee files.
•    Support HR compliance efforts, including anti-harassment training, and labor poster compliance.
•    Help summarize timesheet data for Finance’s labor distribution and accrual entries.
•    Provide HR and payroll support for ad hoc requests.
•    Support employee engagement activities.

•    Ability to work independently and meet required deadlines.
•    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
•    Experience with recruitment, benefits, and payroll administration is preferred.
•    Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people.
•    Ability to prioritize tasks and to ask for help when appropriate.
•    Willingness to learn.

 

Requirements: 
•    0-3 years experience in HR, payroll or in administrative role
•    Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Bachelors Degree is preferred.
