AMG is seeking an Account Manager to work with our Sales Team. The Account Manager is responsible for managing relationships with key customers in a variety of industries ranging from defense industries, aero space, food service and medical.
The ideal candidate should possess the following traits:
- Strong Communication Skills: Effective communication is crucial in order to build and maintain relationships with clients. The account manager will need to clearly convey information, actively listen to customer needs and address any concerns or issues.
- Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of machining and fabrication, including knowledge of machining processes, equipment, and industry trends. This knowledge allows the account manager to effectively discuss the client's needs, provide solutions, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Customer Relationship Management: Building strong, long lasting relationships with clients is a core aspect of the account manager's role. This involves understanding the client's business objectives, anticipating their needs and ensuring their satisfaction. The ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously is also important.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Account Managers will encounter complex challenges and must be adept at analyzing situations, identifying problems and proposing effective solutions. They should be comfortable working with data, conducting analysis, and making data driven recommendations.
- Sales and Negotiation Skills: Account Managers are responsible for identifying additional sales opportunities, negotiating contracts, and closing deals. Strong sales skills, including the ability to understand client needs, present value propositions, and negotiate win-win agreements, are critical in this role.
- Organization and Time Management: Account Managers typically handle multiple client accounts, each with its own demands and deadlines. Being Well-organized, prioritizing tasks effectively and managing time efficiently are important for success as an Account Manager.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Account Managers often work closely with others including production, quality control, and shipping. Collaborating effectively with internal stakeholder, sharing information, and coordinating efforts are essential for meeting customer expectations.
- Adaptability and Resilience: Machining and Fabrication can be dynamic, with evolving market conditions and customer needs. The Account Manager must be adaptable, able to navigate change, and resilient to the face of challenges. The Account Manager will need to be proactive in seeking new opportunities and finding innovative solutions.
- Industry Knowledge and Networking: Staying updated on trends, market dynamics and competitors is important for the account manager. Actively participating in industry events, conferences and networking opportunities can help build strong professional network and enhance knowledge.
- Business Acumen: Understanding the financial aspects of the machining and fabrication industry, such as pricing, profitability, and cost management, is crucial for the Account Manager. The Account Manager will need to analyze financial data, make informed decisions, and align their strategies with the customers business objectives.

- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be a High School Graduate or have a GED
- Background in Machining/Fabrication or related Manufacturing is required
- Strong math skills required
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and proficient with spreadsheets
- Strong communication skills required - both verbal and written
- Previous account management experience preferred
