What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brand Ambassador Salt Lake City position at amika?
Part-time, contract position
This is a joint sales and education role. You will be the face of amika in your local Sephora stores.
amika is a fast-growing hair care/tool manufacturer based out of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, that’s been providing fun, performance-driven products and tools to professional stylists and consumers since 2009. Our products are carried by salon professionals and retailers worldwide. You’ve seen amika in Birchbox, Sephora and in your local high-end salon.
Key Attributes/Requirements
• Retail/sales background is a must
• Knowledge of Sephora and relationships with local stores are a plus
• Ability to book yourself and manage your own schedule
• Accountable for learning and mastering new materials
• Good communication skills: professionally written emails, text conversations and phone calls
• Takes initiative in local market to engage Store Leadership, Beauty Advisors and clients
• Hairstylist or Makeup Artist preferred but not required. Should be comfortable touching hair and performing basic styling techniques: curling, straightening, applying product
• Professional in demeanor and appearance
• Can submit invoices correctly and in a timely fashion
• Flexible, regular availability. Prime booking times:
WEEKENDS:
Friday-Saturday all day, Sunday morning

Wednesday-Thursday early afternoon, early evening
Monday morning, early afternoon

Job Duties
Sales
• Schedule and execute Sephora store support: BFDs, BSDs, Hybrid Days, and Events
• Offer interactive product demonstrations to stylists and clients
• Assist in achieving/exceeding individual store and zone sales goals
• Communicate successes and challenges back to amika team
• Ensure product merchandising meets company standards
• Complete required brand survey with commentary and pictures after every shift
Education
• Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of brand, products, and best-sellers
• Stay up-to-date on new product launches and train all store locations on newness
• Excellent ability to educate in various environments (one on one, group)
• Coach store staff to feel confident speaking about the brand
• Build positive working relationships with Store Leadership and Beauty Advisors
• Leave a positive, lasting impression after each workday
• Participate in initial/ongoing brand training and team calls
Reporting structure
• Report in to local Territory Brand Manager for initial training, ongoing development, scheduling direction, and invoicing.
Reimbursements
• Competitive hourly rate paid out bi-weekly
• Hours per week may vary based on Sales and Education Specialist availability and assignment availability
• Mileage over 50 miles roundtrip reimbursed at government rate (currently $0.585/mile), tolls reimbursed
• Out-of-market travel accommodations pre-arranged and paid for by company with per diem allowance
• Full kit of products, tools, samples, and other marketing collateral to support sales will be provided
