Position Summary

As a Recovery Project Coordinator, you’ll help organizations expand their services to more people who have been affected by substance use disorders. You will work with a team of professionals to support people in recovery by evaluating and creating internal programs, building external partner networks, creating training programs or developing recovery workforce pipelines.

How You’ll Take Action
- Help organizations build capacity to address the opioid epidemic.
- Coordinate and support a variety of projects, program development and outreach activities.
- Receive recovery and skill-based training, professional development, and ongoing support from staff.
- Gain valuable hands-on experience, build your professional network and launch your career while embedded at a local recovery organization.
- Share your experience with the wider community as a Recovery Corps ambassador.

It Starts with a Passion
Our members come from all walks of life. Anyone can become a Project Coordinator as long as they have a passion to make a difference — and meet the following minimum qualifications.
By the time they begin their service, our Project Coordinators are:
- Dependable and have a history of good attendance.
- Able to understand and follow instructions.
- Able to set a pace and maintain a service schedule, depending on the agreed upon hours commitment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), internet searches, data entry, email communication (with attachments), databases and software use, and videoconferencing.
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing English fluently.
- 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.*
- Able to successfully complete a background check.
*Applicants who have received deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are not eligible to serve in our programs at this time. DACA applicants may be eligible for Americorps VISTA programs. For more information, click here.

Members starting in July-
- Up to $6895.00 in Education Award
- Segal AmeriCorps Education Award* which can be used to pay tuition or repay qualified student loans. Individuals 55 at the start of their service term may gift their award to a family member. Click Here for more information.
- Federal student loan forbearance and interest repayment.
- Time accrual toward Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
Members starting in September-
- Up to $7395.00 in Education Award

Program Specific Benefits by hours commitment per week
All Start Dates-
40 Hours
- $1200 stipend paid every two weeks.
- Individual health insurance — monthly premium 100% covered.
- Child care assistance — based on family size and income.
25 Hours
- $725 stipend paid every two weeks.
