LANDSCAPING MAINTENANCE (22941)

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Under the Facilities Manager supervision, the Landscape/Maintenance Worker performs all landscape work including trenching, sprinkler systems, planting of grass and shrubs, maintaining gardens, grass etc… at all locations. Landscape/Maintenance Worker assists the Maintenance Worker in repairs and remodeling of building.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Installs/Maintains companywide irrigation systems
• Assists with the plants and transplants, removes, cultivates and waters flower and foundation shrubs
• Assists in the planting, watering, mowing, weeding, trimming and renovation of company landscaping
• Mows grass and uses blower to clean left over leaves and grass
• Cleans parking lots, patios and sidewalks using pressure washer
• Cleans cobwebs from eves of building
• Prunes trees
• Installs ground pipes for drainage of water
• Assists Maintenance Worker in a variety of maintenance, repair and construction tasks with general supervision and minimum instructions
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisor

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• High School Graduate or equivalent combinations of education and experience
• Four (4) years of experience in Landscape
• Good Communication skills; bilingual Spanish preferred
• Ability to maintain good relationship with management staff
• Ability to operate and use lawn mower, hammer, blower electrical drills, skill saw, staple gun, sanding machine
• General construction and maintenance materials, methods and terminology
• Ability to respond to common inquires and complaints from staff
• Ability to diagnose problems and recommend solutions
• Demonstrate clear knowledge of Ampla Health’s clinic structure, standards, procedures and protocols
  
  

COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS:

• Must have neat and legible handwriting
• Must be able to interact with patients courteously and calmly
• Ability to communicate well with the public
  
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Works well with patients in a generally comfortable environment office. Employees must possess the following physical requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, and twist
• Must be able to hear staff on phone and speak clearly in order to communicate information
• Must be able to climb and walk on the roof
• Must be able to work safely out-of-doors in all weather
• Must possess a reliable truck and all the necessary tools to perform any maintenance work
• Must be prepared to drive to any clinic to perform a specific task
