Overview
The Compensation Specialist applies an understanding of basic compensation principles in performing a broad range of compensation activities. This includes advising others on compensation policies and procedures; assisting with the annual salary survey process; evaluating jobs, position maintenance and revising position descriptions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain job profiles in the organization by evaluating, benchmarking, and creating.
- Review and prepare compensation-related business processes, requests and reports within Workday for final approval.
- Provide support to managers and HRBP's on creating new positions, providing benchmarking data and overall compensation support.
- Participate in annual industry salary surveys submissions.
- Assist in the annual salary review process.
- Assist in data gathering, research, and analysis for compensation initiatives
- Monitor changes in federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure organizational compliance.
- May assist in equity administration.
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of experience in the administration of compensation programs; prefer experience in insurance and / or financial services industry
- Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel or other data analytic tools using data, formulas and functions to gather, manipulate and audit large data sets.
- Strong knowledge of HRIS systems, preferably Workday.
- Knowledge of compensation administration
- Demonstrated knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop effective relationships and partnerships with HR team and business partners at all levels within the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer orientation
