Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Specific Responsibilities:

• Conduct Technical Manual Level 10/20 Field Level Maintenance to include, but not limited to preventative maintenance checks and services on all stored ground support equipment to include, but not limited to light wheeled vehicles, High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) and other military equipment.
• Conduct logistics and supply support operations to enable efficient and effective maintenance operations.
• Troubleshoot, repair, modify and maintain a variety of heavy mobile equipment, such as tactical, and powered support equipment.
• Remove and repair major systems or components of equipment to include power packs, transmissions, transfers, gear reduction units, injector pumps, fuel pumps and alternators.
• Make idle speed, current, brake, and transmission linkage adjustments.
• Perform initial and in-process inspections, mechanical diagnostics and troubleshoot to localize defects and determine cause of malfunction, mechanical maintenance on defective parts, and minor body work.
• Provide technical assistance to unit personnel.
• Operate motor vehicles to perform the duties of this position.
• Perform operator maintenance to include servicing vehicle braking systems, checking vehicle lights, and taking oil samples.
• Researches and assists in requisitioning materials, parts, and equipment necessary to perform the vehicle maintenance/management mission.

Basic Qualifications:

• · At least 5 years of experience in Maintenance and Logistical Support Operations
• · Familiarity with the U.S. Army Reserve maintenance management principles and metrics
• · This position requires a Personnel Security Investigation
• · Basic computer skills
• · Having a Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $28.42 - $32.99 per hour

• Military Mechanic: 2 years (Preferred)
