We are currently looking for an individual to join our team as the Director of Nursing. The Director of Nursing is responsible for the administration and supervision of the daily operations of the programs at the Campus level. Supervises the program’s faculty, support staff and the program's student service on campus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Complies with all AGMU norms, policies, and procedures related to academic programs and faculty.
- Participate in institutional related activities and committees.
- Implement, administer, and supervise the nursing programs in compliance with and in accordance with accreditation standards, state regulations, and institutional requirements.
- Ensure implementation of program policies and procedures.
- Chair, supervise and coordinate the accreditation processes of the nursing programs.
- Supervise and coordinate the implementation and maintenance of the assessment process of the unit and the nursing programs.
- Closely supervise the teaching strategies, methods, and delivery of knowledge in support of the attainment of end of program outcomes.
- Prepare and recommend class scheduling and programing in accordance with campus’ enrollment, human and fiscal resources for appropriate review and approval.
- Responsible for the acquisition and the established relationships with clinical affiliation agreements.
- In collaboration with the Director of Clinical & Lab Operations; supervise the clinical coordinator or designee in the procurement and oversight of clinical affiliations at hospital and clinical locations.
- Monitors the nursing students’ retention officer in the tracking and monitoring of nursing students’ satisfactory academic progress, retention, readiness to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam and job placement.
- Supervise the simulation and laboratory technicians in the design, maintenance, and delivery of hands-on practice scenarios for students and support of faculty activities.
- Supervise full-time and part-time nursing faculty and clinical preceptors.
- Evaluate and certificate the academic credential qualifications of the faculty and preceptors.
- Prepare faculty course and workload assignment and schedules.
- Evaluate and refer to the Associate Dean of Nursing and the Academic Dean, the candidates for Faculty and any other non-teaching staff necessary for the operation of the unit.
- Develop and manage the nursing program annual budget.
- Evaluate and refer to the Associate Dean of Nursing and the Academic Dean, the candidates for Faculty and any other non-teaching staff necessary for the operation of the unit.
- Comply with provisions of the Faculty Manual the credentials, evaluation, and promotion of faculty.
- Coordinate the clinical and academic research areas.
- Stay current on nursing practice and protocol, facilitation techniques, curriculum design, institutional teaching modalities, programmatic accreditation standards and guidelines, and adult education to enhance the design and delivery of the nursing programs.
- Conduct periodically meetings with department personnel and faculty to ensure the timely completion of projects.
- Develop the unit annual work plan, actions, and professional development plans to accomplish the unit and institutional goals.
- Develop and submit the annual achievement report of the unit.
- Supervise and review unit staff and full-time faculty’s work plans and the achievement reports.
- Collaborate in the admission, enrollment, retention, and graduation of nursing students.
- Provides expert guidance to the admissions officers and Registrar for the evaluation of academic credentials for program transfer and international students.
- Provide academic advising to students, in collaboration with full time faculty and campus’ administrative staff.
- Develop and promote nursing students’ organizations.
- Participate in professional organizations at local and national levels.
- Work collaboratively with Campus Director and staff to facilitate and support the integration of program faculty, students and activities with Campus plans, operations, and activities.
- Assist and collaborate in the development and implementation of grants and funding sources to enhance the Nursing programs.
- Comply and supervise the institutional attendance policy.
REQUIREMENTS
- Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited University or an Internationally recognized institution of higher education.
- Hold a current license as a registered nurse in the State of Florida.
- Hold current nursing related certifications where applicable.
- Preferred: Current licensure and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
- Three (3) years of experience in higher education teaching, nursing education administration or a combination of both specialty / professional areas.
- Service-oriented.
- Sufficient interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and administrators.
- Knowledge of computerized systems and their programs.
- Ability to express himself/herself effectively, verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English.
- Availability to travel in the United States for trainings, conferences, or meetings.
- Availability to work full-time but flexible scheduling, including nights and weekends when necessary.
