What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Anakeesta?
Anakeesta/The Revel Group is seeking an Accountant who will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations at Anakeesta, including daily reconciliations, general ledger entries, assisting with accounts payables & receivables, and financial reporting. This role will also assist with budgeting and forecasting, tax compliance, and financial analysis. This position will be based in Downtown Knoxville and will commute to Gatlinburg one to two days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks as part of the monthly close process, including preparing or posting journal entries, monitoring sub-ledger interfaces, and ensuring the timely analysis, preparation, and submission of close-related deliverables.
- Processing invoicing and receivables as needed
- Manage accruals and reconcile based of contract terms
- Import and reconcile daily sales data from Point-of-Sale system
- Perform Monthly Review’s for management and answer any related questions
- Responsible for working with an independent accounting firm in the preparation of all financials, reporting requirements, assisting in the preparation of all local, state, and federal tax requirements.
- Assist the Accounting Manager with projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
- Experience with and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- High proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
- Experience with Accounting Software (NetSuite a plus)
Physical Requirements:
- Requires extended periods of time at computer workstation.
