Respite Program Supervisor is a direct service provider who provides guidance, direct services and support to clients across ABS’ Youth and Adult Respite Programs and Community Inclusion in a variety of settings.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Expeditiously launch respite services for clients enrolled in the
- Work independently to develop, operate and maintain all respite approved programs to the standards outlined by ABS and DCF.
- Oversees the operations and development of Community Inclusion services (including weekend community inclusion)
- Facilitates the process of recruiting and discharging of clients for each respite
- Facilitates interviewing/assigns candidates to appropriate programs.
- Establishes rapport and positive working relationships with clients, staff and care
- Supports client’s integration into the community providing resources for clients that enable them to participate in meaningful recreation.
Recreational Activity Planning
- Coordinates and participates in outreach and public relations activities to promote program
- Evaluates operations and activities of assigned responsibilities; recommends improvements and modifications; and prepares various reports on operations and activities of the program.

- Must work a flexible and varied schedule which may include evenings, and weekends, as necessary
Supervision
- Review and coordinate the job responsibilities, scheduling and functions of various staff members.
- Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, and review the work of staff involved in the respite services.
