Community Risk Reduction Manager/PIO
The Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Manager/Public Information Office (PIO) supervises and develops the programming intended to reduce the risks identified in the AMFEMS community risk assessment. The CRR Manager/PIO also provides official messaging/position statements from the District during emergencies, designs and develops marketing/outreach efforts, proactive risk reduction campaigns, and public events using radio, tv, social media, and other forms of media. This full-time position promotes/maintains open dialogue with local radio/TV media sources, colleagues in the Community Risk Reduction Division, AMFEMS emergency response personnel, and the public.

REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- 2-3 years of work experience
- Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license prior to operating any vehicle owned by the AMFEMS. The license must be a full operator’s license. Instructional or temporary learning permits do not meet this requirement
- Ability to communicate effectively with the target demographics for risk reduction through public speaking, presenting prepared lesson plans, and/or one-on-one interactions
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to work weekends and evenings as required

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Duties outlined in AMFEMS Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Specialist 2
- Coordinate the daily work of the AMFEMS CRR Specialist(s)
- Works with the Battalion Chiefs to coordinate the participation of fire companies in public education events
- The following duties from Chapter 5 and 6 of NFPA 1031 Standard on Fire and Life Safety Educator, Public Information Officer, Youth Firesetter Intervention Specialist, and Youth Firesetter Program Manager Professional Qualifications:
- Analyze community risk, design and manage programs, integrate prevention interventions to address community risk, create and lead a community risk reduction program, and work in collaboration with internal and external organizational members -5.1.2
- Estimate project costs; complete budget forms; requisition/purchase orders; collect, organize, and format budgetary information; complete program budget proposal; complete purchase requests -5.2.1.B
- Format policy, project possible outcome -5.2.3.B
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data; establish and address priority risk issues -5.3.1.B
- Design program strategy, select program components -6.3.1.B
- Duties outlined in Chapter 7 Public Information Officer, from NFPA 1031 Standard on Fire and Life Safety Educator, Public Information Officer, Youth Firesetter Intervention Specialist, and Youth Firesetter Program Manager Professional Qualifications
- Manage the District’s social media platforms
- Creates media content highlighting and/or celebrates milestones for employees such as hiring/retirements, births, marriages, graduations (employees and their children), etc.
