What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Director position at Angels' Place?
SUMMARY
Angels’ Place provides homes and services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We have approximately 125 employees and are headquartered in Southfield. We are currently accepting applications for an experienced Director, Human Resources. This position is a member of the organization's leadership team and reports to the CEO.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruitment of all non-direct care employees
- Job Descriptions – author in collaboration with managers
- Job postings – facile with job search sites, really, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.
- Interviews – online and in-person
- Background Checks – in collaboration with HR coordination
- On-boarding – presentation of policies and culture
- Work in collaboration with Caregiver Concierge – who manages recruitment and retention of caregivers (manage job postings for these positions)
- Work in collaboration with Volunteer Coordinator – who manages unpaid help
- Employee Retention: coordinate employee appreciation activities; track and distribute milestone recognitions
- Benefits Administration
- Payroll Administration
- Healthcare – coordination with vendor and board subcommittee
- Retirement Plan administration
- Other Administration: employee handbook maintenance; administration of random drug testing; annual performance testaments; record keeping; legal compliance; communication regarding holidays, unplanned closures, other matters
- Employee grievances and discipline (in collaboration with other Directors)
- Other duties as assigned by the CEO
SPECIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATIONS
- Willingness to work in a Christian faith-based organization in service to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management or business management / administration
- At least 7 years’ experience in the HR field
- Excellent communication skills – strong writer, empathetic listener, direct communicator
- Highly organized – with attention to detail
- Budget management experience
- Knowledge of labor laws and regulations
- Highly proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Aptitude to quickly learn other programs/ software
- Candidate will be required to pass a drug screen and obtain a negative TB and COVID-19 test (paid by Angels’ Place) – and be disciplined to work in a COVID-safe environment.
- Candidates must be COVID vaccinated and boosted
- Must have a driver’s license, a good driving record, and dependable transportation (you will be reimbursed for any business mileage).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
