Volunteer/Event Coordinator

Animal Adoption Center is a small, family owned business that specializes in providing event management services to a variety of private and public organizations. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Volunteer/Event Coordinator.

Job Description:

This dual role, Volunteer and Events Coordinator split their time between both roles for Animal Adoption Center. The Coordinator oversees the management and retention of AAC volunteers. S/he is responsible for all tasks connected to AAC events.

Animal Adoption Center is looking for a confident, resourceful self-starter with planning and execution experience who is available to work nights and weekends as needed. This is a great opportunity for someone with great attention to detail to thrive in a small shelter.

Events-

Coordination of adoption events, street fairs, fundraising events, and other special events.

Coordinate and serve as the point of contact with venues, vendors, etc.

Create timeline, projections, run of show, floor plan, etc. for each event.

Submission of permits, licenses, etc. to townships as needed.

Keep an up-to-date shareable calendar of upcoming community events.

Log all event expenses, sponsorships, and ticket/table sales.

Research and solicit businesses for event sponsorships.

Volunteer Management.

Knowledge of Better Impact software is a plus.

Schedule volunteers for all events.

Actively recruit new volunteers, while engaging and retaining current volunteers.

Communicate with volunteers through Facebook group and email.

Process and review volunteer applications.

Conduct volunteer orientation/ training sessions.

Serve as point of contact for volunteers at both off-site and onsite opportunities

Manage other opportunities such as youth organizations, corporate volunteer days, community service, etc.

Position Requirements

Ability to work and communicate with the shelter team as well as external partners and vendors.

Attention to detail.

Ability to multitask, manage time and set deadlines, a self-starter.

Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.

Excellent customer service and relationship building skills.

Flexibility in hours as weekend and evening work is required due to the nature of the position.

Indoor and outdoor activities will be required. The Coordinator must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Ability to post events on all social media platforms.

Ability to handle dogs, cats and other small animals.

Ability to go to transports and receive animals to bring back to shelter.

Valid New Jersey driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.29 - $18.41 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Lindenwold, NJ: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Events management: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Customer service: 2 years (Preferred)

Work Location: In person

Salary : $15 - $18
