The Kitchen Manager will play a key role in supervising various aspects of our restaurant's heart (back) of the house business. The Kitchen Manager will be expected to support our heart of the house staff to ensure plates are properly cooked and served so that our guests have a pleasant dining experience. The Kitchen Manager assists the Restaurant General Manager in the management of the restaurant to brand standards in accordance with Company Policies, Procedures, and Practices. This role will oversee and participate in food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully stocked kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. The Kitchen Manager manages operations with passion, integrity, and knowledge while promoting the culture and values of Anna's House.
Responsibilities:
- Support General Manager and leadership team by supervising kitchen staff, coordinating food prep and cooking food orders, and helping order food supplies and kitchen equipment, as needed
- Oversee food plating, food temperature, and ensure portion sizes meet expectations
- Coordinate communication between front of the house and heart of the house staff
- Monitor compliance with safety and hygiene regulations to ensure the restaurant exceeds standards in food quality, safety, and cleanliness, including storage of food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators)
- Assist with scheduling heart of house staff shifts
- Assist the General Manager in the projection of future staffing needs
- Assist General Manager by providing coaching and feedback to staff and assess performance on an ongoing basis
- Participate in the training of the kitchen staff on prep work, cooking, and food plating techniques
- Understand and respond to weekly and monthly cost reports
- Perform other related duties as assigned
