Who You Are
We are looking for an AV Coordinator to join our Operations Team. The AV Coordinator is responsible for managing the technical operations of research studies ensuring both employee and client needs are met efficiently and effectively.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate technology and logistical needs for research studies
- Set up and Support equipment for usability, eye tracking and mobile studies
- Monitor research sessions and provide technical support as needed
- Process recordings from research sessions and other meetings
- Produce basic video clips based on researchers' specifications and timestamps
- Schedule custom web conferencing meetings
- Coordinate with vendors who provide important contributions to our research studies (such as eye tracking equipment providers, in-field technical consultants, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and fix research lab equipment and software problems
- Identify and implement improvements in our research labs/processes
- Provide support for complex and/or strategic studies done outside of AnswerLab offices
- Assist with general IT support for in house and remote employees
- Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, or electronically
- Install, support, and maintain PC and Mac hardware including desktops, notebooks, monitors, and printers
- Document processes, procedures, training guides, and issue resolutions
- Maintain software and hardware inventory
- Provide support for Android and iOS devices
- Participate in after-hours upgrades and troubleshooting as needed
- Interface with vendors and secondary support as necessary
- Remain current on developing technologies and make recommendations as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We understand that outstanding candidates can come from a variety of backgrounds. While specific experience is important, we are ultimately looking for candidates who have the personal characteristics to thrive in a growing client-focused business. The ideal candidate will likely meet many or most of the job criteria listed below:
- Minimum 2 years related work experience with audio-visual, video editing, and digital recording technology; experience managing/supporting a UX research lab is desired
- Knowledge and experience with both macOS and Windows operating systems
- Must have basic knowledge of networking: switches, routers, access points, VPNs, and firewalls
- Highly comfortable with a variety of software and web technologies (Screenflow, IPEVO, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, Box are some examples of what we use)
- Must have experience and understanding of audio-visual equipment and technology (microphones, amplifiers, video cameras, HD-SDI, document cameras, webcams, projectors, webcams, capture cards, etc.)
- Knowledge of both Android and IOS mobile devices
- Experience with video editing software, video file conversion, and various digital video formats
- Experience and knowledge of web conferencing services and software such as Zoom and WebEx
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce coherent and organized documentation
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks, including internal client requests
- Ability to anticipate needs and plan accordingly, exceptional attention to detail
- Experience providing a stellar customer service experience
- Generates sensible, realistic, and practical solutions to problems
- Maintains stable work performance and displays poise under pressure
- Shows initiative to take on new projects and a desire to identify ways to contribute
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- College degree preferred
- Willingness to travel if needed
- Availability to be "on-call" for infrequent after-hours emergencies

Physical Requirements:
- This is an in-person position supporting a fully COVID vaccinated office environment.
- Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects
