A Legal Specialist is responsible for providing legal support services for one or more states or functions and/or for routine litigation through a variety of legal assignments and projects which utilize knowledge specific to the company. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

- Conduct claims research.
- Prepares, analyzes and evaluates legal documents, memorandum, reports, and/or filings.
- Prepares and organizes case research, notes, and legal documents.
- Conducts legal research and analysis, and recommends appropriate course of action and next steps.
- Performs fact checking, gathers documents, researches and assists with investigative and discovery activities and processes.
- Identifies required information for databases or other document management systems.
- Assists with preparation for arbitration, including exhibits and witness prep.
- Participate in and occasionally testify at hospital arbitrations.
Requirements
- H.S. diploma and a minimum of 2 years of legal or related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
Preferred
- Paralegal Certification or an AA/AS/BA/BS in a related field preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
