Location: For this role we prefer candidates located close to an Anthem/IngenioRX office, but we are willing to consider candidates outside of this preference within the Continental United States.
Position Summary
Reporting to the VP, Product Strategy, this position provides leadership for the IngenioRx Specialty Pharmacy Product Strategy, Development, Management and Operations, delivering innovative new products targeted to ASO and Fully Insured clients that drive results and improve operating gain via product portfolio expansion. The leader of our Product portfolio has oversight of our PBM solutions innovations and development for all Specialty Pharmacy offerings to meet current and emerging market needs.
This position engages significantly with matrixed resources (Clinical, Operations, Pricing, Product, IT, Business Development etc.) that collaborate to develop, produce, pilot, implement, and service new products. In this capacity, the leader will create both standalone pharmacy and integrated pharmacy/medical solutions that bring value across the total addressable market: clients/prospects within Anthem as well as carve out payor agnostic strategic solutions designed to meet current and emerging market needs and drive significant profitable growth and retention of our market base.
Primary interfaces include Integrated Segment resources such as the IngenioRx PBM leadership, Sales and account teams, Commercial Plan market segment leaders, Commercial Product, Pharmacy Clinical Account Services, Marketing, Pricing team, Underwriting, Product and Medical Account Services, and Pharmacy Operations, Analytics, IT, Legal and Compliance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop strategic plans and execution needs for new and emerging solutions, driving business case development, market trends and insights and securing funding to grow and retain business, creating a differentiated position in the market.
- Partner with current client base to assure retention, satisfaction and growth within a highly accountable and visible framework focused on driving results to plan.
- Development of the strategy, profitability and maintenance of all Specialty product offerings, ensuring operational excellence across the product lifecycle.
- Develop executive level relationships (higher-wider-deeper) directly as well as drives plan execution throughout the organization.
- Provide executive leadership, working closely with the Commercialization team, Marketing and Training/L&D partners for the development of training materials/forums to educate Account Mgmt. associates on IngenioRx products and how to effectively sell groups on the pharmacy value proposition.
- Leadership of best practices for pilots, prioritization, development, production, implementation and measurement of success for clients, members and IngenioRx/Commercial FI plan.
- Attend select best & final presentations to supplement the prospective account team.
- Leadership of the product portfolio alignment and business cases for funding, including the foundational ideation/concept development for pilots, soft launches and full rollout
- Product Lifecycle process and phase gates management for all product development, execution and market introductions through strategic recommendation for mature offerings
- Leadership of product strategic input at stakeholder meetings, including steering committee review
- Development of Product plans that meet/exceed IngenioRx goals to achieve the membership growth and profitability targets
- Issue management for product development and operationalization and client implementations
- Evaluate new opportunities for revenue growth such as new product expansions
- Develop strong collaborative relationships with all key stakeholders critical to the successful launch of differentiating products and services across Pharmacy Sales/Account Directors, and all IngenioRx cross functional partners/resources that support the PBM business
- Exceed the retention, satisfaction and product expansion goals by focusing on key product opportunities, including key performance indicators such as member NPS, Client NPS, Cost of Care reduction and profitable growth
- Driving Talent Development and cultural expectations to recruit, inspire and retain high performing staff, deepening the talent bench and leading succession planning.
Qualifications
- Requires a BA/BS or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background .
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Specialty Pharmacy, PBM or Medical health care experience with strong general business management skills, P&L ownership, product strategy methodology, product management including design and use of market research to direct and execute new product innovations
- Experience with healthcare and pharmacy benefit management
- Experience leading cross functional initiatives and executing within a large matrixed organization
- Minimum 8 years' experience leading high performing teams in a product/solution or general business management growth function
Skills, Knowledge, & Experience
- Successful experience developing and executing short and long-term strategic growth plans
- Experience presenting to C-suite leadership
- PharmD
- Clinical and HC Operational acumen

Annual Salary Range*: $162,240 - $202,800
Actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
