Mission:
As a Materials Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials within the organization. You will play a crucial role in optimizing inventory management processes to ensure efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate suppliers on the basis of delivery speed, price, and quality.
• Manage costs and quality throughout the supply chain.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries that meet customer requirements.
• Collaborate with business partners to provide support during engineering changes and Launch Programs.
• Responsible for Bill of Materials (BOM) monitoring and audits.
• Responsible for Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system accuracy .
• Supervise Plant physical inventory events to maintain accurate records.
• Assure production and materials are accurate in automatic goods issues within ERP.
• Analyze financial reports, price proposals, and other information used to determine sensible pricing.
• Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers.
• Monitor supplier product performance and deliveries.
• Develop and implement Material Department action plans.
• Oversee departmental training and upkeep of training records.
Qualifications
• Previous experience in materials management or a related field - Proficiency in Warehouse and Inventory management practices
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
• Ability to effectively buy materials at competitive prices
• Familiarity with MRP systems for demand forecasting
• Strong skills in Supplier management and negotiation
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP software is a plus
