Our company is seeking a Diesel Service Writer/Technician This multifaceted position involves customer service, communication, and technical skills to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. The individual in this role acts as a liaison between customers and the diesel service department, managing service requests, providing updates, assigning technicians, performing small repairs, coordinating the repair process, maintaining vehicles and keeping records of maintenance performed. You should have experience with diagnosing malfunctions related to fuel systems, emissions, engines and electrical components, along with the ability to repair them. Other duties include checking the condition of tires and replacing them if necessary. Our ideal candidate has the right combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers, assess their service needs, and create detailed service requests. Communicate effectively with clients to gather information about vehicle issues and provide updates on the repair process. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and provide excellent customer service throughout the service experience.
  • Evaluate the extent of repairs required and provide accurate updates to customers. Collaborate with the service team to determine labor and parts needed for repairs. Clearly communicate timelines and any additional recommendations to customers.
  • Generate and manage work orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information. Schedule appointments and coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs. Maintain organized records of service orders, invoices, and customer information.
  • Possess a basic understanding of diesel engines and related systems to effectively communicate with technicians. Collaborate with technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and resolution of issues. Provide technical information to customers in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure repairs meet established standards. Address any customer concerns or dissatisfaction promptly and professionally.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining service records. Assist with inventory management and ordering of parts as needed.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
