Responsibilities are essential in day to day operations for the Department of Mohs Surgery. Thorough Mohs consults are to be performed, efficiently, effectively educating patients on Mohs procedure, what is to be expected pre and postoperatively, optimizing patient flow and patient satisfaction.
- Complete Administrative Proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Web-based applications, email, HRIS systems)
- Performs Mohs phone consultations.
- Level of expertise knowledge in Mohs criteria.
- Message Mohs surgeons with relevant updates of medical history
- Performs post op calls to all patients
- Schedule all Mohs/excision for surgeons
- Receive all phone notes from all providers for scheduling Mohs/ excisions procedures
- Mail out confirmation of surgery packets at least a week in advance
- Maintain schedule to capacity/avoiding excessive overbooking
- Fill surgery appointment slot if one should cancel
- Receive all incoming patient calls regarding Mohs (its own queue)
- See that the phone is answered before the third ring always. Collect and respond to messages left on the Mohs voicemail.
- Handles all scheduling for outside referrals.
- Work with referring offices to schedule Mohs surgery and ensure path report is received and scanned into patients’ medical record prior to surgery
- Coordinate rescheduling of all cancellations.
- Oversee the wait list, move up promptly when an appointment slot opens.
- Oversees the existing appointment ticklers, make follow up call to patient

- Support APDerm’s mission and culture of high-quality standards by carrying out applicable policies, procedures and established industry standards, laws and regulations. Examples include adhering to privacy and data protection practices, ensuring a safe workplace, and reporting observed or suspected behavior and actions that do not meet APDerm standards.
- Complete all assigned required training by the deadline including, but not limited the Code of Conduct, Privacy & Data Security, and OSHA.
Qualifications:
Mandatory
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Preferred
- Dermatology or Mohs experience
- Medical assistant certification
