What are the responsibilities and job description for the Control System Engineer position at Apex Systems?
This position will play a critical role in the deployment of the Next Generation Automated Vehicle Scheduling (NGAVS) system in our clients North American vehicle assembly plants.
- Responsible for integration of NGAVS with our clients Vehicle Operations tooling and process control systems.
- Work with vendor controls engineers to install, test, and debug standard NGAVS logic and drivers.
- Modify standard HMI code for Allen Bradley PanelView HMIs for plant specific requirements
- May need to create custom code for plant unique situations or modify standard templates and AOI.s to address issues
- Provide direction for controls equipment locations for safety, maintenance and production consideration for tool install and through launch. Verify all Ford safety standards are followed
- Analyze customer requirements and map to NGAVS systems design
- Develop process flow diagrams based on customer input
- Own for the integration of NGAVS with Vehicle Operations tooling and process control systems
- May also direct the efforts of others, including agency personnel or third-party controls integrators, depending on the project assigned
Skills Preferred:
- 5 years of experience with a MS/BS Degree (willing to consider non-degreed individuals
- Rockwell Allen-Bradly PLC5 and ControlLogix in an automobile manufacturing environment
- Rockwell Allen-Bradley PanelView HMI’s
- Rockwell Factory Talk Production Center
- Experience with SmartEye vehicle identification
- Experience with SICK barcode scanners or equivalent (e.g. Keyence, Cognex)
- Experiences in Ethernet, Device Net, Profinet, Profibus, etc., networking, especially Ethernet/IP
- Automotive manufacturing environment experience
