Scrum Master
Large Banking Client
Hybrid 3x/week onsite in Chicago, IL
6 months, with potential to convert to FTE
Pay: $65hr W2
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and coach high performing teams
- Look for ways to strengthen teams understanding of Agile/Scrum concepts and principles
- Ensure teams actions are aligned with the project goals/vision
- Ensure Scrum practices are used and improved within and across the teams
- Bring transparency to Business and IT organization about development and build trust
- Identify trade-offs between short- and long-term benefits to drive shared vision between the team and product owner
- Foster a continuous learning environment helping teams to inspect and adapt
- Facilitate cross-team events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value while managing risk, stakeholder communications and escalations
- Collaborate with other scrum masters for consistent adoption and effectiveness of Agile across the organization
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help the team to adopt and practice Agile core values, principles and implement Agile practices
- Facilitate team events or ceremonies including daily stand-up, iteration/spring planning, spring review, retrospective, demos and backlog refinements
- Identify impediments and cross-team dependencies and support the team in eliminating and addressing the issues and distractions
- Establish clear agile performance metrics such as quality, flow, predictability and velocity, and lead the team’s efforts to improve performance
- Help coach stakeholders and non-agile teams on agile/non-agile team interactions
REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION
- Bachelor’s degree, with 5 years of relevant work experience with Agile and Scrum preferred
- Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP) or Certified Scrum Coach (CSC) preferred
- In-depth knowledge about various Agile methodologies – experienced in coaching Scrum and Kanban teams, interpreting agile metrics, and improving team performance
- Experience working with JIRA – managing boards, users, defining custom workflows, building dashboards, and writing queries
- Confluence, SharePoint, and MSFT Teams experience
- Delivery or software development background
- Experience working with Data related projects and software upgrade projects
- Experience in financial services industry is highly preferred
