Apolonia Restaurant, Chef Stephen Gillanders’ (of S.K.Y.) second concept in the South Loop and one of Chicago's most anticipated restaurant openings of 2021, is looking for a Sous Chef to join its team!
The 120-seater is at 2201 S. Michigan Avenue, near McCormick Place and Wintrust Arena. It’s on the ground floor of a tri-branded Hilton Hotel that opened in 2018.
The ideal candidate has extraordinary attention to detail, exacting focus, and strong kitchen management attitude. This role requires dedication, passion, creativity, and the ability to persevere through challenging services while constantly striving to maintain the standards of the Apolonia Restaurant and our leaders.
Manage daily kitchen operations including, but not limited to:
- Ability to teach and run all stations with precision and consistency
- Daily inventory and ordering
- Auditing all kitchen areas and staff for compliance with health code
- Assisting CDC staff training and further education
- Assisting CDC with staff scheduling
- Lead by example and maintain a positive work environment
- Work under the guidance of our CDC, Executive Chef, and Apolonia leadership
- Ability to multi-task
- A strong sense of urgency
- A team player with strong communication skills
- A desire for growth
- A rigorous attention to detail
- Exempt Salaried position, depending on experience

Salary : $60,000
