What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Desk position at Appalachian Mountain Cl?
- Welcome and check in guests at the Joe Dodge Lodge
- Ensure basic safety and overall efficiency of campus through the evening into the early morning hours (8:30 pm-6:30 am)
- Secure/verify all Pinkham Notch Visitor Center buildings have been locked at 6 p.m.
- Enforce 10 p.m. quiet-time curfew in the Joe Dodge Lodge and across campus.
- Answer all incoming calls and cover emergency radio shift (according to established procedures), from the hours of 10 p.m. through 6:30 a.m.
- Do all necessary laundry as requested by HK Supervisor & maintain laundry room.
- Remove snow as requested. Perform some custodial duties at the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center as needed.
- Assist other Departments when instructed by a supervisor.
- Physical Abilities required: ability to stand, sit, bend at waist, carry up to 30 pounds, lift up to 20 pounds from floor level to waist level
- Various weather measurements and reporting to NOAA
- Vacuum Trading Post retail area, lobby and staircase after trading post closes
- Familiarity with Pinkham Security Policy
- Campus walkabouts on miscellaneous intervals including scanning the parking lot
- Monitor electric and heat settings in all buildings
- Check all meters and log information
