Human Resources Generalist
Location: Fargo, ND
Reports to: Human Resources Manager
Position Summary
Designs, plans, and implements human resources programs and policies for staffing, personnel records, legal compliance, compensation, benefits, visa/green card processing, employee relations, training, health, safety and employee morale.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Sets policies for hiring and oversees adherence to EEOC and affirmative action programs and diversity goals set by the corporation.
  • Establishes policies that seek to increase retention rates and foster employee job satisfaction and high morale.
  • Establish and oversee employee review and growth policies and process.
  • Conducts orientation covering company policies, benefits, emergency plans, etc. for new employees.
  • Approves terminations, and exercises care that reasons are well documented and are not arbitrary or discriminatory.
  • Oversees maintenance of accurate and complete personnel records. Ensures that rules concerning confidentiality and retention are followed.
  • Keeps informed of legislation affecting human resources; trains management and monitors company policies to ensure compliance.
  • Oversees preparation of job descriptions and compensation programs.
  • Reviews benefits and assist employees with benefits inquiries
  • Works with top leadership to set long-term staffing goals and strategies.
  • Oversees training and safety programs in context of compliance with government regulation.
  • May oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department.
  • Appareo retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • 2 years of experience in Human Resources or a related field preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Decision Making: Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
  • Other Competencies or skills: Strong organizational skills to schedule people to tasks, and develop realistic action plans while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability. Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to challenge and improve processes and create innovative solutions.
