Appian is looking for a high-energy, results driven sales leader to drive and manage the growth of our State & Local sales team.
The Regional Vice President is responsible for achieving the booking targets within a defined territory within the State & Local market. They lead a team of 2 to 8 Enterprise Account Executives and 3 Assistant Account Managers This role reports directly to the Area Vice President, Federal Civilian, State & Local, and will work with other members of the sales leadership team to ensure the overall quota is met.
To be successful in this role, you need:
A successful track record in software sales as a sales team leader
A good understanding of the State & Local contractor community, many of whom sell into the U.S. Public Sector marketplace
Experience defining territories, assigning quotas, and determining target accounts for a sales team
Experience managing and coaching team members and assisting their sales cycles
Experience working with resellers & channel partner teams

Basic qualifications:
10 years leadership experience and 5 years in enterprise software sales as a team leader
At least 5 years experience selling to contractors focused on the State & Local market space
Working knowledge of business process automation with a history of qualifying client solution areas and orchestrating multi departmental solution sales
Excellent written / verbal communication and presentation skills
Experience defining territories, assigning quotas, and determining target accounts
Mentors and coaches team members and assists their sales cycles
