Key Qualifications
- Excellent CAD knowledge - NX preferred, but not required
- Excellent CAD sculpting skills - complex surfacing, surface analysis etc
- Knowledge of specialist CAD surfacing software a bonus, but not requirement (e.g. Alias, Rhino)
- PLM / Agile / Teamcenter knowledge and experience a plus
- GD&T knowledge and experience releasing 2D drawings
- Experience with vendor FAI/CPK dimensional reports
- Practical experience working through DFM challenges with external vendors
- 3-5 years of hands-on, detailed product design experience
- Strong analytical skills with regard to mechanical engineering theory
- Experience working in technical project groups in a professional environment
- Wide knowledge of basic engineering materials and manufacturing processes
- Consumer electronics knowledge in these disciplines is a plus: industrial design, cameras, sensors (magnetometers, IMUs, capacitive, etc), PCBs and flexes, silicon, antennas, batteries, thermals
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) including emails, preparing slide presentations, and presenting technical concepts to multi-disciplinary teams
- Detail orientated and capable of handling multiple assignments at once
- Experience collaborating with Asian manufacturing facilities, specifically in high-volume mass production
Description
As a CAD engineer on this team, you will play a pivotal role working closely with the Product Design Engineering Team in 3D and 2D CAD. The role will require you to have expert CAD skills, ideally in NX, and be able to work to a fast-paced, exciting and dynamic team. The role will involve you collaborating with and bridging the gap between the Industrial Design team and the Product Design team. As part of this role, you will be expected to have a good understanding of the product design process, and possess basic engineering skills in design, materials, manufacturing processes, and the entire product release and quality management process.

Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required
Master of Science preferred

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $134,000 and $266,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
