This role is part of the Human Interface Design team in Apple Services, which includes media products, creator tools, cloud and commerce services, and productivity apps. Writers on this team work on feature development and future designs through the lens of language. We’re searching for a UX Writer to create new and better experiences across our services. Specifically, you’ll focus on Common UI by crafting, maintaining, and gaining adoption of pattern libraries related to UX writing. You’ll work on narrative strategy, concept new features, define and evolve product voice, and develop and maintain interfaces.

Description
The Writing arm of our Design team works on all our services, including ones that are currently available and ones that are just barely being imagined. Each UX Writer on the team is embedded within a specific line of business (for example, Music, Maps, TV, and so on). However, this person will be embedded within our Common UI group, working horizontally across all our services with responsibility for many things, including: - Collaborating with visual designers and technical disciplines to create sophisticated design solutions for user behaviors. - Advocating for written and behavioral consistency, with deep knowledge of Apple's Human Interface Guidelines. - Developing, maintaining, and gaining adoption of pattern libraries focused on UX writing. - Seeking out opportunities to apply standards to new features, while also knowing when it's time to evolve the playbook. - Assessing and improving accessibility standards, inclusive design practices, and localization issues. - Working on feature development, naming, user flows, product logic, and education. - Boiling down complex systems into coherent, concise, and compelling narratives, interface copy, user experiences, and documentation. - Creating consensus and providing deliverables under tight deadlines. - Spending time with Accessibility, QA, Legal, and Localization specialists to ensure content appears properly for every audience.
