What are the responsibilities and job description for the Policy Advisor/Subject Matter Expert position at Applied Research Solutions?
Applied Research Solutions is searching for a Policy Advisor/Subject Matter Expert in Richmond, VA supporting DLA.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist the government in monitoring the actions and decisions of the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act and pending HFC restrictions/phase down, and develop recommendations and procedures for potential management of HFC products by the ODS Office.
- Analysis of current and future DoD requirements of HFC’s with upcoming requirements/regulations for restrictions/ phase down under the AIM Act.
- Analysis of current and future DoD requirements for disposition of ODS and HFC that cannot be consumed or economically reclaimed by DoD.
- Research, analysis, and rating of existing ODS and HFC destruction technologies to assess technical efficiency and economic viability.
- Analysis of disposition of compressed gas cylinders as they relate to storage, transportation, disposal, and destruction of ODS and HFC.
- Developing reports, fact sheets, and point papers.
- Participating in conferences and meetings.
- Develop a method and format for potential monthly HFC reports.
- Conduct or support the conduct of studies and analyses to determine on-going military services/government agency ODS and HFC requirements.
- Monitor domestic and international studies, policies, and agreements pertaining to ODS and HFC.
- Monitor domestic and international determinations/development of technically feasible, financially supportable, and effective processes for ODS and HFC banking or destruction/conversion.
- Support the preparation of inter/intra-agency service agreements and operating agreements between the ODSR and foreign governments and their contractors operating remote collection and storage sites for ODS products.
- Prepare, update, and maintain ODS and HFC-related policies, processes, and procedures documents and flow charts.
- All documents should be in Microsoft Office (Word, Visio) format unless otherwise requested or approved by the contracting officer’s representative (COR).
- Develop system requirements to expand the ODS web application to include potential expansion to include HFC’s.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Technical experience required:
Must be a U.S. Citizen- Active Secret Clearance Required
BA/BS and 15 years of experience, 5 of which must be in Ozone Depleting Substances, ability to maintain a clearance, Knowledge of American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) and Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs)
