Description
The Accounting Intern at Applied Underwriters is directly involved in the daily operations of a large corporate accounting team. You will make journal entries, perform account reconciliations, help prepare financial statements, engage in financial statement analysis, identify and maintain effective controls and processes, and be involved in special projects.
As you hone your skills and ambition, we will maximize your exposure to different departments via projects in tax, insurance accounting, investments, financial reporting, reinsurance, and internal audit. The preferred candidate can demonstrate leadership, accountability, and teamwork.
What to expect and logistics:
- Hours
- Summer: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
- School Year: At least 15 hours per week, flexible with school schedule.

Requirements
- Actively enrolled Junior/Senior in an accounting related degree program
- Major GPA at least 3.0
- A baseline understanding of the principles of accounting and the importance of ethics in the business environment
- Proficient in the use of software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
