The Manager, Change Management leads a team focused on the people side of change. Develops, implements and coaches leaders at all levels through enterprise change management strategies to mobilize and engage stakeholders. Provides direction to a team of change leads and analysts, oversees change management consultants and associated budgets, reviews and approves project change management plans and collaborates with leaders and subject matter experts up and down the organization. Maintains enterprise-wide awareness of upcoming initiatives and major projects, anticipates potential impacts to the overall employee experience, and reduces that risk through change management plans developed though appropriate frameworks.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Communications or other job-related field from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of related experience in change management organizational development/effectiveness, human resources, or internal communications. Experience to include leading program, project, vendor/resource, budget, and directing work of others. Proven expertise in relationship building and stakeholder management, and a consistent track record of developing, measuring and communicating progress toward metrics with a data-centric lens. Demonstrated balanced approach to decision making, weighing narrative feedback and intuition against meaningful data. In lieu of bachelors degree, combination of college coursework and of broad-based business experience, including experience in a change lead capacity equaling 12 years required.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications: Prior experience in a leadership role involving the planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the work and performance of subordinates. Excellent skills in communications strategy, client consultation, employee relations, and verbal and written communication. A fundamental understanding of the electric utility industry, including generation and delivery operations.
1. Lead overall change management strategy for the company, including selection of methods and frameworks, levels of internal client service, selection and utilization of consulting partners, customer satisfaction and change analytics.
2. Ensure change management rigor is in place to ensure successful implementation and completion of consequential projects.
3. Provide candid, timely and credible advice to senior and executive leaders on high-impact transformational initiatives.
4. Provide technical and financial oversight to consulting change management partners on multi-year, highly complex projects.
5. Build and leverage change management competency and capacity within business units so that less complex changes can be implemented through coaching and assistance rather than comprehensive, dedicated efforts.
6. Utilize established change management methodologies while demonstrating flexibility and appropriateness of approach based on unique business cases.
7. Identify risks and anticipated points of resistance and develop specific plans to mitigate or address concerns.
8. Recommends and provides input into development of operating budget; monitors spending for adherence to budget and addresses variances.
9. Coach and train direct reports and company leaders on change fundamentals, tools, frameworks and processes to advance people and change through key enterprise projects. Mentor leaders and change sponsors.

This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work. Employees will have two options to choose from:
- APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.
- Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.
*Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need.
