What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human organizational position at APS?
The Human / Organizational Performance Consultant guides and supports the effective integration of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) to the enterprise (including Palo Verde Generating Station).
HOP is a science-based approach that changes the way a company identifies and responds to risk and failure. It is an operating philosophy that changes the way we think, learn and design our systems and aids in our ability to identify problems and organizational weaknesses.
The consultant ensures all appropriate tools, procedures, performance monitoring, metrics, work practices and expectations are in alignment with HOP principles and values.
Provides consultative support to business units and corporate departments by learning from operations, identifying weaknesses and providing customized direction and guidance.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science, Business or other job-related field from an accredited college or university plus five (5) years of experience in Human and Organizational Performance or other directly related field.
- OR, two (2) year technical degree plus seven (7) years experience in Human and Organizational Performance or other directly related experience.
- OR, high school / GED plus nine (9) years of experience in Human and Organizational Performance or other directly related field.

Major Accountabilities
1) Provides proactive HOP consulting services to all levels of leadership to anchor and further integrate HOP throughout the organization, including identification and execution of tailored approaches that address needed areas of improvement.
Provides coaching and guidance on how to align programs and processes to HOP philosophy. Serves as an internal and external advocate and champion for HOP as well as organizational values and culture.
2) Aids in the successful implementation of a standardized HOP direction across the enterprise, ensuring continuity and sustainability.
Assume responsibility as the HOP subject matter expert (SME).
3) Develops content and delivers on-going HOP advanced training to employees and leaders. Develops customized training when requested.
Partners and coordinates with internal training organizations to ensure consistent and timely delivery of training products including the development of new training and resources as needed.
4) Trains and mentors internal HOP champions in the business. Participates on industry and work-related organizations and committees, providing a high level of technical expertise and representing the interests of APS.
Proactively recommends program enhancements to incorporate best-in-class approaches.
5) Provides technical support in development of the departmental budget.
