What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate position at APTA?
- Serves as the first point of contact for in person, phone and email inquiries related to the scientific program and FPTR in general.
- Provides volunteers and vendors with excellent customer service responding to requests in a timely manner and adhering to deadlines as appropriate.
- Assists the Senior Specialist, Research & Grants Program will all aspects of the application, review, award, and post-award process.
- Collaborate with the Communications teams on various projects to promote FPTR funded research.
- Takes the lead to update the FPTR's Standard Operating Procedures manual.
- Assists with surveys, webinar development and other outreach to funding recipients.
- Organizes and prepares materials for scientific program meetings.
- Draft minutes of meetings.
- Schedules internal and external meetings.
- Provides backup for data entry, working with development staff as needed.
- Processes all FPTR check and payment requests; reconciles monthly credit card statements.
- Supports the board in staff in the use of Boardable; Maintains documents on the platform.
- Perform data entry to keep records up to date, including changes in contact information.
- Maintains confidentiality of private and privileged data.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced office while multi-tasking.
- Supports the goals and strategies of the Strategic Plan.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2 years relevant experience working in a non-profit, academic, or business environment.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Grants administration experience a plus.
- Experience grant application software such as ProposalCentral is highly desired.
- Demonstrated proficiency at project coordination.
- High computer literacy with compressive knowledge of Microsoft Office applicants, especially Excel.
- Must be highly organized; have good time management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
- Excellent and effective communication skills – written and verbal.
- Prior experience in gift or sales processing and record maintenance required. Raiser's Edge or similar database, a plus.
