Summary:
Maintains the physical condition of the hotel property in a cost-effective manner. Strives to offer guests a clean, attractive, and secure place to stay that offers excellence service. This position contributes to maintaining safe and functional working spaces for all employees.
Responsibilities
- Conducts preventative and corrective maintenance (PMs) throughout property, both external and internal.
- Maintains all maintenance records and responsible for reporting problems to the General Manager.
- Applies knowledge to conduct maintenance of equipment, systems, and facilities in a safe and efficient manner to support the operation.
- Applies knowledge to conduct maintenance of property grounds, including maintaining exterior landscape during all seasons.
- Conducts inspections of interior and exterior property, including fire extinguisher, fire alarms, guest rooms, etc. to monitor and resolve any equipment or facilities challenges.
- Assists the general manager in coordinating all required inspections including but not limited to, Elevator, fire panel, fire extinguishers, sprinkler, backflow.
- Contributes to a positive culture while maintaining a professional attitude and appearance.
- Contributes to a hospitable guest experience, including providing assistance with luggage, directions, etc.
- Contributes to monitoring a safe and secure property by conducting property walk throughs.
- Responsible for maintaining air conditioning and heating units, which includes cleaning air filters bimonthly.
- Contributes maintaining high standard of cleanliness and organization in all areas of the property.
- Contributes and supports the company’s safety protocols and policies.
- Applies knowledge of emergency safety procedures and policies for property staff and guests.
- Manages the hotel’s key control program, including maintaining key control records.
- Completes any additional tasks assigned by General Manager.
- Serves as a leader on the safety/security team and attends and occasionally conducts the monthly required meeting.
Requirements:
- This position normally requires a professional level of knowledge in facilities maintenance management equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of some college or an Associate’s degree. Demonstration of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirements.
- This job normally requires 2 years of progressively responsible positions in hotel property or facilities maintenance. Journey man experience, post-secondary technical certification or licensed in carpentry, electrical, mechanical plumbing or HVAC systems is preferred.
- Ability to life 50lbs and occasionally move up to 100lbs.
- Must be able to work around equipment safely and stand/walk for long periods of time.
- Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines including support and compliance with company health and safety standards.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees, management, and guests.
- Must be able to prioritize work while maintaining attention to details and time constraints, working independently or in a team environment.
